Live Life Today God Will Take Care Of Tomorrow

postauthoriconBy Pastor Reinhard Westphal | PDF | Print | E-mail

Whatever happened yesterday, and whatever will happen tomorrow NOW is where you are. There are three important factors to consider in order to live each day filled with joy, peace and satisfaction: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Factor 1: Yesterday is gone
As you start a new day you have to believe that your yesterday is gone. This is most important for your victorious Christian life today. Psalm 103:12 says that God has removed your sins as far from you as the east is from the west. Only if you believe that with all your heart will you get to the next level where you experience that His mercies are new every morning. Don't let your failures of yesterday determine your level of joy and satisfaction today.

Factor 2: Today is a new day
Every morning, while you are getting out of bed, quote Psalm 118:24 out loud: "This is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!" Now, that should get you off to a great start for the day. Nothing is more powerful in life than declaring the word of God. Let me show you how to live your day today, so that you will have an even better one tomorrow.

See today's possibilities.
God says in Isaiah: "Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." As you live today, you can decide to make a wish list for tomorrow. I wish I had more money. I wish I had a better job. I wish I had a better apartment. I wish, I wish I wish. You have to understand that wishing for tomorrow paralyzes you today.
God wants to do something new and special in your life today. Can't you see it? And He will make a way! Don't put off being happy until tomorrow. Today is your day.

Live your life God's way.
As you live your life today God's way, He is already working on your future. He is preparing more blessings, more increase, more favour and more joy for you. So, see today as a journey into god's riches and enjoy that journey. To live your live God's way does not mean that you have to be perfect. Just do what you know is right. Learn to talk to the Lord about the stuff that you are doing. Thank Him for His unconditional love for you. Let a worship song fill your heart and mind.
Psalm 37:4 "Find your delight in the Lord. Then he will give you everything your heart really wants." Enjoy your day with the Lord today and He will take care of everything your heart wants.

Receive God's peace.
How do you get God's peace? Philippians 4:6-7: "Don't worry about anything. Instead, tell God about everything. Ask and pray. Give thanks to him. Then God's peace will watch over your hearts and your minds because you belong to Christ Jesus. God's peace can never be completely understood." You will live with and in God's peace as you learn to give your cares and worries to Him. As you give your cares and worries over to God you will be set free to live today with joy, peace and anticipation for the good things that God will do in your life tomorrow.

Factor 3: Prepare for tomorrow
What kind of a day would you like to have tomorrow? Here is my advice on how to prepare for great day tomorrow:

First, just before you go to sleep thank the Lord for today. Thank Him for his protection, for His joy, for His peace, for His love and for His goodness. Talk to Him about how you felt during the day both the good and the bad.

Next, talk to Him about your failures. When we confess our sins and shortcomings His is faithful to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God, through Jesus Christ, has already forgiven you for your sins and shortcomings. Confessing them to the Lord is the means by which you are being cleansed from all your feelings of guilt, unworthiness and self-condemnation. Then thank God for His mercy and grace and for His cleansing.

And last but not least: Relax and stop striving! The Amplifies Bible says in Psalm 46:10: "Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God." Just take a deep breath and say: "Lord, I am so glad, that you are totally in control of my life. Thank you for today and thank you that you have a great day planned for my tomorrow. I trust you and I love you."

Let's sum it up:
In order to live a fulfilled and satisfied Christian life each and every day you have to realize that yesterday is gone. No matter what happened yesterday, God's mercy and grace is new today. Each new day you have to live with the assurance, that the Lord has something good and wonderful planned for you this day. You have to be excited about new possibilities. You have to be determined to live today God's way to the best of your ability and knowledge. And you have to prepare each night for a new day filled with god's goodness and grace.

I encourage you to apply this outline for 30 days and see what will happen in and to your life.
