Internal Hope Fellowship Church, The Fellowship of Hope, a plant church by the will of God, George E. Burrell, Sr., planter. Internal Hope presently worships at the Forestbend Civic Center in Friendswood, Texas.
Until July 2009, Pastor Burrell also served as Assistant Director of Jail Chaplains Ministry at the 701 N. San Jacinto Harris County Jail facility. He served for 28 years as a chaplain, beginning this ministry as a volunteer chaplain and has touched the lives of hundreds of inmates, their families as well as deputies and staff of the Sheriff’s Department.
The Fellowship of Hope sponsors two conferences focusing on teens and young adults. In addition, The Hope also sponsors Vacation Bible Schools; Parenting & Evangelism seminars; back to school block parties; Angel Tree ministry during Christmas and have participated in many local community activities and foreign mission kingdom pursuits and financially support many missions, missionaries and other outreach ministries.
Earth’s Angels, encouragement, mentoring and leadership development for today’s teen girl and young adult woman, ages 11 thru 36. Earth’s Angels mission is to create learning experiences designed to motivate teen girls and young adult women to build a life of purpose through a refreshed, hope-filled heart with renewed self-confidence and a deep desire for a daily relational walk with Jesus Christ.
Young Men of Valor, a one-day, day of discussion, day of acceptance, day for change brings together teen boys and young adult men in Houston and surrounding areas, from different walks of life to address concerns of today’s young men and to impart biblical truths with regard to many pertinent issues that they face today. The program format includes gifted teachers, musicians, food, and group interactions.
Pastor Burrell has a long-time passion to see families and individuals reach their greatest potential equipping them to, with confidence, to victoriously face the many challenges that may lie before them in the years to come. The Hope is committed to developing a church ministry that is multi-cultural, family oriented, bible teaching and training believers to be servants in the community and abroad with the gifts God has given each member. Realizing the great need for today’s urban and suburban family to grow stronger, The Hope is seeking God’s direction for a permanent location to more effectively fulfill their ministry vision of spreading hope in an uncertain world. Part of the vision is a strong emphasis on evangelism, offering structured programs focused on career development, after-school programs, life skills and family counseling.
Pastor Burrell attended University of Houston and College of Biblical Studies. He is an alumnus of the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, E.K. Bailey International Expository Preaching Conference and Ligonier Reformed Theology Conference. Pastor Burrell is a past Silver Award recipient for outstanding Christian Leadership in the community from the Harris County Council of Organizations and a board member for Youth-Reach Houston (a long-term Christian foster family group home that ministers to the mental, physical and spiritual needs of this generation’s troubled youth).
Kathy attended North Texas State University prior to marrying the love of her life and best friend, Pastor B and enjoys classical piano. Kathy has a deep heart’s desire to disciple teen girls and young adult women helping them to see they can wage war with the world and win! This life-long desire led her to begin a phenomenal conference for teen girls and young adult women, Earth’s Angels Conference.
Kathy was recipient of the 2009 Esther Award for excellence and distinction in ministry presented by Dr. Lois Evans, Host and Founder of the First Lady Conference (Tony Evans’ The Urban Alternative). A gifted teacher/speaker, she enjoys event planning and has years of experience in non-profit fundraising having worked for local non-profits as Star of Hope Mission. At Internal Hope, Kathy serves as creative arts coordinator, women’s ministry teacher and executive assistant to Pastor Burrell.
Pastor George and Kathy have three adult sons, one daughter-in-love, a lovely granddaughter and six lively grandsons.
